Before founding Burlington & Young, LLP, along with partner Elizabeth Burlington, Nevin Young practiced with another Annapolis law firm for almost ten years. He is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School, and of St. John’s College in Annapolis. Before beginning his practice of law, he served in the Air National Guard and was also employed by a large defense electronics company as an engineering technician.
An experienced trial lawyer, Nevin has litigated hundreds of civil cases in the State of Maryland and had also represented defendants in numerous criminal matters.
His philosophy of litigation is simple. “I don’t believe in bluster, puffery or gimmicks. I believe in getting the facts on the table from the start, giving the client a reasonable assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the case, and based upon those facts, either litigating the case to victory or finding a reasonable settlement.”

Elizabeth Burlington is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, and a graduate of St. John’s College in Annapolis.
As a law student Elizabeth was a judicial clerk and intern to two Anne Arundel County judges and a clerk in a small bankruptcy and foreclosure defense firm. As a lawyer she has contracted with several large Maryland law firms on cases ranging from trademark infringement to SEC compliance. She has also favorably settled consumer warranty cases.
Elizabeth believes that empathy and compassion are important to the practice of law. “When people reach out to lawyers they need to know that someone will be there to listen to them and to help them plan a course of action that will best suit their needs. I strive to be the type of person that clients trust with the important matters in their lives.”
